The Tamikerami Story
My name is Tamara, and Tamikerami is the fulfilment of a lifelong dream – to turn my passion for creativity, playfulness, and handmade craftsmanship into my life’s work.
To me, ceramics are much more than a material. They are an endless canvas where every new piece offers an opportunity to explore shapes, textures, and colours. That is why no two days in our workshop are ever the same.
Over time, my husband joined me. A passionate potter and a true master at the potter’s wheel, he shares my love for creating unique handmade ceramics. Together, we craft every piece entirely by hand, whether carefully hand-modelled or traditionally thrown on the potter’s wheel. Each creation passes through many stages – shaping, drying, firing, hand-painting, glazing, and a final firing – with every step leaving its own unique mark.
Our inspiration comes from nature, life’s simple pleasures, and the warmth of home. That’s why you’ll find mugs that brighten your morning rituals, charming animal figurines, angels, bells, souvenirs, and decorative pieces that bring joy and character to any space. We love playful designs, vibrant colours, and thoughtful details that give every creation its own personality.
Quality in Every Detail
Quality is at the heart of everything we create. We work with a variety of clays, from durable stoneware to white and grogged clay, together with carefully selected engobes, oxides, and glazes suitable for both low- and high-temperature firing. All glazes used on our functional tableware are food-safe and lead-free, ensuring our ceramics are as practical as they are beautiful.
We believe that a handmade piece carries something mass production never can – a story, time, dedication, and a part of the person who created it.
